My key concept is developing a structure where spaces are linked both horizontally and vertically, I also try to blur
the boundary of level and let the spaces flow in three-dimensional space.
My matrix is consisting of 5 series. Each of the series is exploring different technic to achieving my desire form of structure. Through the exploration of the different possibility of the space, I finally decide my concept for this project, I want to develop a structure that can blur the idea of “level”, which mean a structure that not only connects space horizontally but also connect space vertically and smoothly without having a clear definition of different levels.

At the beginning, I just exploring the Grasshopper and different skill sets, and I capture this. This iteration draws my attentions because the structure and how the geometry interact with each other is interesting, especially the two holes connect two level. They let me discover the potential of space and help me shape my concept
When doing this seris I use helix shape rail as my main steam to develop geometries, I attempt different geometries include box, sphere, diament and pyramid. This one is the most intersting to me. Because I like the texture it created and the spatial progression. It has a very clear circulation and lead people to explore the space.
This iteration achives my concept. It has a very organic form. The surface gradually lifted up and sink down smoothly, the space feels like being devided and somehow its not, the boundry of space is blurry and difficult to be defined. The idea of level is demolished in this space, user can not easily defin the level they are on.

Waffle Structure
The most outstanding characteristic of the structure is the circulation, using radial waffle can clearly indicate the path of the circulation and emphasis on the shape of the tunnel.
The distance of the waffles were adjusted and the density is getting smaller from the middle to both sides. The reason to do that is because the detail of the texture are centralised in the center and incease the density of the waffles can show that better.
